Waiting for the Perfect Wave

Heard this from an old surfer the other day: “Every time we fell off the board, we had to swim out to get it back. That’s how I learned to swim.”

Most people just want to stand on the board and ride the wave. But hardly anyone pulls that off. The rest of us are out there bobbing around in the ocean, waiting for the perfect wave — or getting tossed off the board the moment we stand up. That’s life. And it happens to everyone.

So get back out into the cold water and have another crack: “You can’t stop the waves — but you can learn to surf!”
